Stripline and Microstrip Resonators and Bandpass F ilters - Alexander Zakharov, Sergii Litvintsev

Design microwave bandpass filters using proven resonator theory and techniques Wireless communications and radar systems demand increasingly sophisticated microwave filters. Stripline and Microstrip Resonators and Bandpass Filters develops both theory and practice for constructing advanced stripline and microstrip bandpass filters. Written by researchers with extensive IEEE publication records, this reference systematically progresses from foundational concepts through cutting-edge approaches, including transmission zero formation by resonators and non-uniform transmission line optimization. The book covers ABCD parameters, scattering parameters, and Chebyshev lowpass prototype filters before advancing to bandpass filters with parallel-type resonators connected by simple and mixed couplings. Engineers will find detailed treatment of transmission line and lumped-distributed resonators with frequency responses including multiple transmission zeros up to three-N-plus-one configurations, plus tunable and dual-mode resonator implementations. The book also covers: New theoretical approaches to forming transmission zeros in bandpass filters directly through resonator design rather than external coupling structures Synthesis and optimization methods for non-uniform transmission line resonators enabling enhanced frequency response characteristics in compact filter designs Comprehensive tunable resonator theory with practical applications for developing varactor-tuned bandpass filters with adjustable center frequenciesDual-mode resonator configurations and bandpass filters offering increased functionality and improved performance in reduced physical footprintsDesign procedures for microstrip resonators generating transmission zeros with applications across wireless communications and radar frequency bands For R&D engineers, academics, and advanced students working on microwave filter development, this book provides substantially new theoretical and practical results. Companies designing communications equipment and radar systems will find essential guidance for developing next-generation filter technologies.
