Experts agree that young children respond more immediately to photographs than to illustrations. This book is visually appealing, designed for preschoolers to enjoy and to learn from. It is full of fun images of youngsters just like them, together with familiar and strange plants and creatures - everything from a shy rabbit to a spiny puffer fish.Devised with the help of educational specialists, the book combines simple text with bold, bright images to promote the development of literacy skills. The material is grouped into visual and subject patterns, such as spring, summer, autumn, winter, in the forest, and under the sea. The final two pages challenge young readers to remember where they saw certain pictures before. This encourages them to make connections, and to see how various things evolve, work and link together.
