Lost Highway - Tom Fowler

A military action thriller in which a retired Green Beret on a protection detail hunts the trafficking network that took a pop star, then finds his own daughter in the crosshairs. Third-in-series lone-wolf suspense with a rescue countdown and family on the line. Former Green Beret turned protector races against time to hunt down a missing pop star and dismantle a ruthless trafficking network in this fast-paced military action thriller about lone-wolf justice, ticking-clock stakes, and protecting family at any cost. She’s missing. And time is running out. With his own car repair shop weeks from opening, John Tyler takes a temporary job to keep the lights on. At an old friend’s urging, he joins a protection detail for pop singer Alex Anne during her hometown appearance. It should be easy money. It isn’t. When Alex Anne vanishes after her concert, Tyler doesn’t wait for the official investigation to catch up. Something about the disappearance feels wrong, and he starts digging on his own. What he uncovers is far worse than a stalker or ransom plot. A ruthless trafficking network has taken the singer, planning to move her out of the country along with other missing women before anyone can stop them. When the traffickers realize Tyler won’t back down, they turn their attention to his weakest point: his daughter Lexi, who is in college nearby. With the clock ticking and a plane preparing for departure, Tyler goes on the offensive, prepared to take on the entire operation alone. He’s never cared about the odds. And he’s not about to start now.
