The Glorious Dead - David J Harrison

Nordheim: a medieval world of constant battle. Where war is the only currency that matters and the only person who wants the war to end is the very man who started it. Banou, heir to the blood-soaked homeland known as the Drift, has never stopped searching for her stolen family enslaved by a ruthless raider. She now fights alongside the ageing warrior known as the Teacher in a war between the usurper King Moralles and the rightful Prince Marco. Yet beneath the spectacle lies a darker truth: Moralles profits from the slave trade that feeds both armies, and the war is far too lucrative to end.In a land where honour is twisted and freedom has a price, survival demands blood, courage and the will to stand against a kingdom built on chains.
