Offbeat (revised & Updated)

There is consensus about the merits of Britain's 'cult films' but an odd silence around some 'stranger' classics. OFFBEAT redresses this by exploring Britain's obscurities and curiosities - from the late fifties leap in film production to the death of popular domestic cinema in the early eighties. Featuring essays, interviews and in-depth reviews, OFFBEAT is a guide through a host of cinematic trends and episodes, including: - 'Anti-swinging sixties' films - CIA-funded British cartoons - The demise of the short as supporting feature. Now updated with more than 150 pages of new reviews and essays!
