Peak Bagging: Wales - Will Renwick

Climb the finest mountains in Wales – and discover the very best routes to reach them. In Peak Bagging Wales, local author Will Renwick guides you to all of the 188 Welsh Nuttalls (hills in England and Wales over 2,000 feet). Whether you’re a hillwalker or trail runner, this is the definitive guide to bagging the best peaks in Wales. Inspired by the UK’s bestselling Peak Bagging series – including Peak Bagging Wainwrights, Peak Bagging Munros Volume 1 and Peak Bagging Peak District – this book blends challenging hill lists with thoughtfully designed routes – each chosen to be an outstanding walk or run in its own right. Explore the quieter, rounded hills of Fforest Fawr in Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons), take in far-reaching views from the rocky summit of Aran Fawddwy in the Arans, spot feral goats and lonely lakes in the wild and remote Rhinogydd, and tackle the classic scramble along Crib Goch before standing on the highest point in Wales at Yr Wyddfa on the spectacular Snowdon Horseshoe in Eryri. The 49 routes are grouped into 11 regions, showcasing the remarkable variety of landscapes across Wales. Each route includes 1:40,000-scale maps and elevation profiles, turn-by-turn directions, public transport, parking, and refreshment details, downloadable GPX files, and custom timings for walkers, trekkers, fastpackers and runners. The book also includes a personal account of Will’s completion of the Welsh Nuttalls solo and self-supported in just 23 days. Packed with expert insight and stunning photography, Peak Bagging Wales is your ultimate guide to the high points of Wales.
