Counting Crows - Joe Talon

A body marked for sacrifice. A secret society in the shadows. And a former soldier who can’t walk away. On the fog-drenched moors of Exmoor, Lorne Turner finds a man’s body aligned to the stars, carved with occult sigils and posed like an offering. The police write it off as biker gang violence. Lorne knows better. The evidence points in impossible directions: towards a secret fraternity and an old darkness stirring beneath the moor. As Lorne pushes for answers, he finds himself circling The Gnostic Dawn, a hidden order tied to power, privilege, and a force older than faith itself. But the ritual has far-reaching consequences. For Lorne, shadows move where they shouldn’t. Voices whisper in the cold air. And he can no longer tell whether the darkness on Exmoor is born of his own trauma, or if it’s the evil The Gnostic Dawn has awoken. With the help of village vicar Ella Morgan and witch Willow Hunter, Lorne must stop the next sacrifice before the darkness spreading across Exmoor demands another victim. Counting Crows is the first book in the Lorne Turner Supernatural Thrillers series: a dark British supernatural crime thriller set on the mist-drenched moors of Exmoor.
