A Summer of Seabirds and Butterflies - Kathleen McKee

It takes time away to bring them closer together. As a grieving widow, Jodie Hanson never expects to feel her heart awaken to her neighbor, Brad Davenport, but their similar past experiences have a magnetic effect. Working together, he helps her overcome the anxiety of her new job as a travel writer, while she lends her support for the startup of his landscaping business. When spring moves into summer, Jodie struggles to adapt to Brad’s busy schedule and settle her fear of traveling to unfamiliar areas. An invitation from her friend, Heather Archer, to stay at her beachside home seems the perfect antidote. Unfortunately, Heather is charmed by a famous photographer, Wyatt Crenshaw, who comes to visit his grandmother, Rita Bennett, next door at the shore. With Wyatt and Heather becoming a couple, and Brad focusing on his work, Jodie wonders what the future holds for her. Rita guides Jodie to a recognition that she needs to find her own strength as she explores what she considers important in her life, while Brad realizes that his world is empty without Jodie. Kathleen McKee has woven an intricate story of a second chance for love in A Summer of Seabirds and Butterflies, Book 2 of the Journeys series.
