Shot Clock - Blair Denholm

Some games have scorecards. For ex-boxer Jack Lisbon, the final count is written in blood. A hit-and-run victim lies shattered on a sunlit street. The victim: Dale Collins, legendary coach of the Yorkville Scorpions. After decades of heartbreak, his team was finally on the verge of their first championship. Now, they’re reeling from a murder that’s left a community in shock. The killers were meticulous. No DNA. No prints. No witnesses. Nothing but questions. For Detective Sergeant Jack Lisbon, an ex-boxer haunted by his own demons, this case cuts deep. Together with DC Claudia Taylor, he’s racing to untangle a web of long-buried grudges and dark secrets. Their suspect list reads like a stadium roster—each with the motive and means to want Collins dead. As the playoffs loom and pressure mounts, Lisbon and Taylor discover that in Yorkville, vengeance is a game played for the highest stakes. Staying sober is as tough as finding the killer. In Shot Clock, the second installment in Blair Denholm’s gripping The Fighting Detective series, readers are taken on a heart-pounding journey through the gritty underbelly of a town gripped by fear. ________________________________________________________________________  Praise for The Fighting Detective series:    ? ? ? ? ?
