The Extincts (reissue) - Veronica Cossanteli

A delightful story of friendship and caring for all creatures - perfect for fans of Dick King-Smith 'Packed full of fun, adventure and wacky humour' BOOKTRUST 'I was thoroughly charmed by this very funny debut about a managerie of "extinctly" unexpected creatures.' THE BOOKSELLER George loves to help out at hidden Wormestall farm, even though it's full of extinctly scary creatures, like the dodo in a dog bed and the dinosaurs in the duck pond. When Mortifer the giant basilisk goes missing, it's up to George to find him before wicked taxidermist Diamon Pye can add him to her stuffed animal collection ... A funny, exciting and anarchic debut for ages 7-11, now reissued with a gorgeous new cover. Delicious storytelling reminiscent of Dick King-Smith, Eva Ibbotson or Dodie Smith's The Hundred and One Dalmations. Themes of friendship and caring for all creatures, and starring an unlikely small boy hero.
