Mastering the Art of Landscapes - Abigail Edgar, Sarah Hoggett

Learn how to illustrate a variety of landscapes, from coastal vistas and rolling hills to city skylines and summer meadows, in this updated new edition. An understanding of the various natural forms is key to successful landscape art. Expert tutorials provide this knowledge, from which readers can go on to work through the step-by-step projects. The stages of each project are fully explained, so that students can follow along and learn the methods artists use to observe and capture a vista on paper or canvas. The projects use a range of painting and drawing materials so readers can try their hand at drawing a rocky canyon in soft pastels, painting a French vineyard in watercolors, or tackling a stormy sky in acrylics. By trying out and learning from these varied projects, amateur artists will soon be able to produce their own studies of natural landscapes.
